Usually the production of weaving reeds follows the indication of the loom manufacturer. Nevertheless we can also add an extra spring on top, on bottom or on both sides if required. In some cases it is also indicated by the loom maker himself. Of course putting one or two extra springs must still allow a smooth shed opening and this has to be checked by the customer himself. The benefit of extra springs are a higher reed stability, higher beat-up resistance and also a more stable reed-dent (flat or air jet). We recommend this upgrade in following cases:
early reed breakage, early aluminum channel breakage, early end-dent breakage, warps stripes or marks in the fabric, unstable weft insertion in case of airjet reeds
